Synopsis:The Context of White Supremacy hosts the second study session on Ayi Kwei Armah’s historic novel Two Thousand Seasons (1973). This text is one of Gus’ top five books – it’s likely a favourite of Dr. Marimba Ani also. Last week instalment detailed the importance of reciprocity and “The Way”. Armah emphasises that black people have been brutalized and dominated by Whites because we have abandoned “The Way” and become zombie followers of a culture of death and terrorism. Our failure to remain diligent, suspicious of invading newcomers, allowed them to grow strong enough to overpower and enslave us. We’ll begin this week during chapter two’s uprising. Black females have lead the charge murdering their captures during a night of promiscuous debauchery. Armah details that even once the invaders have been vanquished, contaminated black minds nourish conditions for continued black enslavement.
