Synopsis: The Context of White Supremacy hosts the debut study session on Ayi Kwei Armah’s illustrious novel Two Thousand Seasons. This text is one of Gus’ top five books – it’s likely a favourite of Dr. Marimba Ani also. Talib Kweli’s classic tune shares the same name and is inspired by Armah’s 1973 publication. Gus recognized the title only as a hip hop jewel until reading Alice Walker’s Temple Of My Familiar – Armah’s iconic text is referenced in Walker’s novel. Armah offers a powerful analysis of global White Supremacy – the terrorist behavior of Whites. The book chronicles black people’s descent, annihilation as a result of embracing White destruction and abandoning their customs and culture – “The Way“. We’ll see how relevant this novel remains more than 40 years after it’s original pub
